Announcing Shared Vision

I'm excited to share Shared Vision, an app designed to benefit both visually impaired and sighted users, with the main goal of making computer vision models more accessible to all people, including speakers of low-resource languages and persons with disabilities.

The app can serve many different purposes depending on what’s installed in it.
I was inspired by Seeing AI by Microsoft, but wanted to create an open ecosystem.

𝗞𝗲𝘆 Features

  • Custom CV model support – install your own TFLite models targeted for specific tasks.
  • Multi-language support – works with any language if the labels are translated.
  • Pre-installed models – includes MobileNetV3 and Turkmenistan currency recognition as examples.
  • Text recognition – powered by ML Kit, with system TTS to read text aloud.
  • Future plans – planning to add support for RHVoice to expand text-to-speech capabilities.

Collaboration & Feedback

Looking for collaborators to test the app and help improve it for real-world use.

If you’re passionate about accessible AI and want to explore training or testing lightweight CV models, I’d love your feedback!

  • Please DM me with your email if you’d like to join the testers group.
  • Feel free to share this with friends who might be interested.

Let’s make technology more inclusive, one model at a time.
